These terms govern your use of CleanMyList. By signing up, you agree to them. They are written to be plain-English readable; a lawyer-readable version is available on request.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for what happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email security@cleanmylist.io immediately — we will rotate keys and audit logs with you.
Acceptable use
You will not use CleanMyList to enumerate email addresses you do not have a legitimate basis to verify, to harvest contacts, or to harass recipients. Verification requires a legitimate sender relationship — your own list, a customer list, or a list you are processing under a Data Processing Addendum.
- No bulk verification of scraped data without a clear lawful basis.
- No verification of lists for the purpose of credential stuffing or account takeover.
- No bypassing of our rate limits or sharing of API keys across organizations.
Billing
CleanMyList supports pay-as-you-go credits and optional verification plans. Credit bundles are one-time purchases; credits never expire and cover enrichment plus any verification beyond your plan allowance. Verification plans renew monthly or annually until canceled, grant a monthly allowance with no rollover, and do not cover enrichment. We do not auto-charge credit overages; overage verification only runs when you have credits available. Refunds are available within 30 days of any credit purchase for credits you have not yet used, no questions asked.
Service availability
We operate CleanMyList with a published status page at status.cleanmylist.io. If an incident materially affects a paid verification run, contact support and we will review a fair credit adjustment.
Termination
You can close your account at any time, in-app. Any unused credits at that point are forfeited unless you request a refund within the 30-day window above. We will anonymize closed accounts after 90 days. We can terminate accounts that materially breach these terms, with notice where possible.
Liability
CleanMyList is provided as a probabilistic verification service. Verdicts are accurate to the best of the engine's ability and to the limits of what mailservers truthfully report. We are not liable for downstream consequences of sending decisions you make on the basis of a verdict. Our maximum aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to these terms
We will email you at least 30 days before any material change. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance. The change log is archived at cleanmylist.io/terms/history.
